Always record in landscape (holding the phone sideways) instead of portrait (upright); this makes clips fill the screen in a more natural way. Make sure what you are shooting is well lit. Be aware of other sound sources (radios, wind etc.) which might interfere with the clarity of sound recording.

Zoom & Teams

If you record an interview on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, use Gallery View mode, as this allows more seamless editing between screens when a cut is required. This is ideal in a meeting with two people on-screen, which will preserve some video quality, but is less useful with a large number of contributors in one call.

File Formats

Video files should be in .mov or .mp4 at 30fps (frames per second). Still images can be in .jpeg or .png
